What TripLoop actually is.

An AI-assisted trip route optimizer targeting a specific, underserved niche: international tourists visiting the United States. Users describe their trip (dates, interests, home country, budget); TripLoop returns a day-by-day route across curated points of interest, respecting drive times, opening hours, and regional context.

Unlike generic AI travel chatbots (Layla, Mindtrip), TripLoop starts curated-first: 231 hand-selected POIs across California and beyond, matched via template scoring, then augmented by an LLM only when necessary. The result: consistent, non-hallucinated itineraries with real addresses, real hours, and real routing via Google Routes v2.

Timing: Expedia acquired Layla in July 2026 for undisclosed terms. Mindtrip acquired Thatch in 2025. The travel-AI vertical is consolidating fast. TripLoop is a defensible entry point at a fraction of the cost of building from scratch.

Core loop
  1. 01User prompt → /api/ai/generate-trip
  2. 02LRU cache check (100 entries, 1h TTL, 10ms hit)
  3. 03Template match (curated-first, ≥45 score threshold)
  4. 04Curated POIs injected into AI context
  5. 05OpenRouter (Gemma-4-26B, 1.6s) → fallback chain (Cloudflare, Fireworks, Groq, Anthropic)
  6. 06validateTrip() constraint check + Supabase insert
  7. 07Response tagged: source=cache | curated | ai

/api/ai/generate-trip/stream — Server-Sent Events with phased responses (phase → region_hint → meta → complete). Ready for progressive UI.

Tech stack — no vendor lock-in, production-battle-tested.

Traction — honest disclosure.

Pre-revenue by design. The product prioritized shipping infrastructure before growth spend. Numbers below are as of Aug 26, 2026.

MRR
$0

Stripe is fully integrated and tested (both modes). No paid customers acquired to date — no growth spend was allocated.

Users
~50 wl

Waitlist signups from limited organic traffic. Product access has been friction-tested with founder-invited users.

Domain age
1 yr

Registered 2025. No SEO campaign has been executed — pure asset with SEO upside.

Reality check

This is not a revenue-bearing asset. If you're looking for a profitable SaaS with verified MRR, TripLoop is not the fit. This is a turnkey product + infrastructure play: skip 6–8 months of build, land in a hot vertical (travel-AI), and add growth muscle. Buyers who understood this profile paid $18–35K in comparable pre-revenue AI SaaS transactions in H1 2026 (SideProjectors, Flippa listings).

Financials — transparent.

Current monthly operating cost. No hidden retainers, no expiring credits.

Line itemUSD / moNotes
Vercel (Fluid Compute)$0–20Free tier covers current load; Pro tier if scaling
Supabase$0–25Free tier sufficient today; Pro at ~$25 when scaling
OpenRouter (AI)$0–15Free-tier models used first; pay-per-use fallback
Google Cloud (Places + Routes)$0–200Depends on request volume; scales with users
Twilio (WhatsApp)$0–10Only if messaging feature is used
Resend (email)$0Free tier covers thousands of transactional emails
Domain + SSL$1Yearly cost amortized
Total operating cost$1–271 / moIdle → moderate traffic

With Stripe already wired end-to-end (Checkout + Portal + Webhooks + idempotency table), a buyer can begin monetizing immediately. Break-even at $271/mo is roughly 14 users at $19/mo or 10 users at $29/mo.

How the price is built.

No hand-waving. Every dollar of the asking price is backed by a replacement-cost or comp-based line item.

Pre-revenue AI SaaS with production stack + curated data (Flippa, SideProjectors H1 2026)

Layla-adjacent upside
$60K–$120K

Strategic buyer (travel-AI aggregator, LatAm travel agency) — accessed via private outreach only

Not for sale via
Acquire.com / EF

Both require verified MRR. TripLoop is pre-revenue by design. Listed via Flippa, SideProjectors, and direct.

Ideal buyer profiles.

Why I'm selling.

Direct answer: bandwidth. I'm a solo founder based in Guadalajara, Mexico, operating a portfolio of 17 projects across wine retail, logistics, AI, and consumer products. TripLoop was a strong technical build but the vertical it competes in (travel-AI) requires either significant marketing spend or a well-funded team to reach escape velocity.

Rather than half-execute on TripLoop while spread across other bets, I prefer to hand it to an operator whose specific advantage is travel-audience distribution, or to a portfolio buyer who can bundle it with existing travel assets.

What I'm NOT selling because of: hidden churn (no paying customers to churn), tech debt (see the AUDIT file — code is clean), legal issues (single-author IP, MX resident), platform risks (multi-provider AI is redundant by design), or competitor pressure (Layla and Mindtrip have moved upmarket into paid bookings; TripLoop remains a specialized route optimizer, not a booking platform).

FAQ for buyers.

Is the price negotiable?
The $35K firm price is calibrated to line-item replacement cost (see valuation table). I'll consider offers ≥$30K for cash-fast closes (<10 days). Below $30K I'd rather retain the asset and continue running it as a hobby.
Do you accept earn-outs or revenue share?
No. Clean transfer only. I'm not staying involved in the business beyond the agreed handoff period.
How is IP proven single-author / clean?
I am the sole author. No contractors, no third-party contributors, no AI-generated code that hasn't been reviewed and modified. All commits are from my single GitHub account. Verifiable via `git log --shortstat`.
What's the strongest technical asset?
The AI pipeline. The curated-first architecture (LRU cache → template match → curated POI injection → LLM fallback chain across 4 providers) is battle-tested and would take 3–4 months to replicate cleanly. See AUDIT.md for details.
What's the biggest technical risk?
Google Places / Routes API dependency. TripLoop uses Google's paid APIs for real-time data (traffic, opening hours, geocoding). If Google raises prices materially or a buyer wants to swap providers, it's a 2–4 week migration to OpenStreetMap-based alternatives (Nominatim, OSRM).
Can I speak to previous buyers or reference customers?
No prior buyers exist (this is a first-time asset sale). No paying customers exist (pre-revenue by design). What I can offer: full repo access under NDA, live technical Q&A, and code walkthrough.
What's your ideal timeline?
LOI within 30 days of first inquiry. Close within 45 days of LOI. If you need a slower timeline, I can accommodate up to 90 days total, but priority goes to fast movers.
How is payment handled cross-border (MX seller / US or global buyer)?
Escrow.com or Acquire.com escrow for asset transfer. Payment via wire (SWIFT), USDC on Base or Ethereum, or Stripe for smaller close amounts. Seller handles MX tax treatment (ISR); no US withholding obligations for the buyer.
